What I love about it is its simplicity—you just fill it with water and cleaner, turn it on, and scrub. The scrubbing head has excellent suction, and in no time, the area is spotless. It's especially great for small pet messes like pee stains, vomit, or other surprises from our furry friends.

But what happens when you're faced with a larger mess? That’s when I turn to the Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Upright. This upright model is heavier and a bit more complex to set up—its water basin is larger, and the cleaning process requires a bit more effort. However, it covers larger areas much faster and can handle big, set-in stains more effectively.

Performance Test: Tackling Set-In Pet Stains

We recently moved some furniture and discovered that our somewhat incontinent dog had left some surprises underneath. These were set-in pee stains—the kind that aren’t easy to clean.

I first used the Bissell Little Green Max Pet. It performed admirably, lifting the stains with ease thanks to its strong suction and scrub brush. It’s perfect for these small, targeted cleaning jobs.

But since this was a bigger mess, I decided to bring out the Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Upright. While it’s a bit bulkier and harder to maneuver, it’s incredibly efficient at cleaning larger sections of carpet in less time. It did a fantastic job of cleaning the bigger area thoroughly, although the suction power felt a tad weaker compared to the Little Green.

Clean-Up: Portable vs. Upright

One major consideration is clean-up. With the Bissell Little Green Max Pet, it’s quick and easy—just dump out the dirty water, rinse the tank, and you’re done. With the Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet, there’s a bit more to it. The upright model requires you to clean the water basin, rinse the brush cover, and wipe down the area around the brushes.

While the upright may take more effort in terms of set-up and clean-up, it’s unbeatable for cleaning large areas quickly. On the flip side, the portable Little Green Max Pet is ideal for quick, easy spot treatments.

Should You Choose the Portable Carpet Cleaner or the Upright?

Both the Bissell Little Green Max Pet and the Bissell TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Upright have their strengths. If you have frequent small messes, the Little Green Max Pet is a lifesaver—it’s lightweight, easy to use, and perfect for spot cleaning. But if you have bigger messes or need to clean entire rooms, the TurboClean PowerBrush Pet Upright is your best bet.

Personally, I find the best results by using them together—starting with the Little Green for spot treatments and finishing with the TurboClean for an overall clean.
